Step into a meaningful role supporting K-8 students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in a dynamic school environment in the Deltona, FL area. This full-time contract opportunity runs from August to May, with a welcoming team and a rewarding caseload of around 12 students. As an itinerant educator, you'll work across two closely clustered schools each day, helping students develop essential skills for their academic and personal growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students K-8 with visual impairments
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Conduct assessments, adapt curriculum materials, and recommend assistive technology suited to students’ needs
  • Travel between elementary, middle, and high schools within designated clusters
  • Maintain thorough documentation and progress notes, and participate in student support meetings

Qualifications:

  • Valid Educator Certification for teaching visually impaired students
  • National Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Previous experience supporting elementary and middle school students preferred
  • Familiarity with instructional strategies and technology for visually impaired learners
  • Flexibility to travel between two school sites daily
  • Successful completion of district background check, fingerprinting, and compliance forms
