Interim Controller - Manufacturing (Consulting / Contract Opportunity)
Location: Hackensack, NJ (On-Site)
Compensation: $50.00 - $70.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)
Are you a hands-on accounting leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and can step in, assess, and make an immediate impact? We are partnering with a growing manufacturing company in Hackensack, NJ seeking an Interim Controller to support their finance team during a critical period of transition and growth.
This is a high-visibility role where you will work closely with executive leadership, stabilize accounting operations, and help drive process improvements.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including GL, AP/AR, and month-end close
- Lead and streamline the month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Manage and mentor accounting staff, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
- Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Identify process gaps and implement improvements and controls
- Support audit readiness and coordinate with external auditors
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and financial regulations
- Proven experience as a Controller or Senior Accounting Leader
- Strong background in manufacturing accounting (cost accounting, inventory, standard costing)
- Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves mentality
- Ability to quickly assess processes and implement improvements
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Dynamics, or similar)
- CPA strongly preferred
