Job Description
This opportunity seeks a highly skilled Pharmacy Supervisor to oversee and elevate the operations of a compounding pharmacy focused on animal health. Located in Bakersfield, CA, this full-time, onsite role provides the chance to lead a dedicated team of pharmacists producing specialized compounded medications. The position demands strong management expertise combined with deep compounding knowledge to ensure quality, compliance, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of pharmacists to meet productivity and quality goals
- Manage daily compounding pharmacy operations and workflow
- Ensure strict adherence to USP <795>, <797>, <800>, State Board regulations, and 503A compounding standards
- Maintain accurate training documentation and enforce proper procedures
- Assist with drug selection and formulation for compounded preparations
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and enhanced formulations
- Collaborate with pharmacy leadership and cross-functional departments
- Uphold confidentiality and comply with all relevant policies, regulations, and safety standards
Qualifications:
- Current California Pharmacist license in good standing
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BS) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum 2 years of management experience within a pharmacy lab or compounding pharmacy setting
- 2 to 5 years of hands-on compounding experience
- Thorough knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, <800>, State Board regulations, and 503A requirements
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and staff development abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:15 AM to 5:15 PM
- Full-time, onsite in Bakersfield, CA
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive base salary ranging from $160,000 to $185,000, based on experience
