Make a difference in the lives of students by supporting their development in Life Skills (RISE) classrooms designed for learners who require significant support. This contract role offers two openings for dedicated Special Education Teachers in the greater San Antonio, TX area, with flexible placement in either K–5th or 6–12th grade levels. You’ll be at the heart of a supportive agency partnership, working collaboratively with colleagues and administrators committed to inclusive education.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current certification in Special Education and core content area
  • Experience teaching special education, preferably with students in small-group or Life Skills settings
  • Strong ability to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to individualized student needs
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff
  • Organizational skills to manage diverse learning plans and documentation requirements

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction in Life Skills (RISE) classes to students requiring individualized support
  • Develop and implement IEPs in close coordination with colleagues, service providers, and families
  • Foster a safe, welcoming, and structured classroom environment
  • Monitor, record, and communicate progress toward academic and functional goals
  • Collaborate with school teams to support the integration of students with developmental and cognitive challenges
  • Uphold best practices in behavior support and classroom management
