Job Description
Make a meaningful impact supporting students in grades K–2 as a Certified Elementary Cognitively Impaired (CI) Teacher. This full-time, onsite opportunity offers the chance to work closely with a dedicated school community for the 2026–2027 academic year. As a vital member of the special education team, you’ll provide compassionate instruction and adapt your teaching strategies to help each student reach their fullest potential.
What we’re looking for:
- Valid Special Education License with either CI or ASD endorsement
- Certified in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), or willing to obtain and maintain annual CPI certification
- Experience supporting elementary students, especially those with cognitive impairments, strongly preferred
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, support staff, and families
- Strong organizational skills and a commitment to individualized learning
Key responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with cognitive impairments in kindergarten through second grade
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each child’s strengths and needs
- Monitor student progress, adjusting strategies as required
- Foster a safe and supportive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers and related service providers
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student growth and classroom happenings
- Maintain required documentation and participate in IEP meetings
- Commit to professional development and ongoing training, including CPI certification
