Step into a dynamic educational environment and provide essential occupational therapy services as part of a dedicated school-based team. The current opportunity is for skilled school Occupational Therapists (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) to work on a contract basis for the 2026/2027 academic year. Several positions are available, including one located near Rockford, IL, with caseload details to be determined.

Key Qualifications:

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • Prior experience in school or pediatric settings strongly preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary educational teams
  • Proficient in supporting IEP development and implementation
  • Strong communication skills to interact with students, families, and staff
  • Flexible, organized, and responsive to varying student needs

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver OT services to students, supporting academic participation and independence
  • Assess students’ functional performance and develop intervention strategies
  • Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and families
  • Document services and progress according to school and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal-setting for students
  • Travel between school sites as needed for service delivery
