This contract opportunity is tailored for a dedicated Special Education Teacher eager to work with small caseloads and positively affect student outcomes.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience in elementary and/or middle school environments preferred
- Confidence in providing toileting assistance to students as needed
- Comfortable supporting one student with a feeding tube (training provided if necessary)
- Strong teamwork, communication, and classroom management skills
Role Highlights:
- Elementary classroom features a manageable caseload of 6 students, all with mild needs (no significant behavioral challenges)
- Support resources include a Teaching Assistant and Behavior Technician in the elementary setting
- Middle school classroom assignment includes 11 students, with one student requiring feeding tube support and others with mild needs (no significant behavioral challenges)
- Receive help from 3 full-time Teaching Assistants and a 1:1 aide for the student with specialized needs in the middle school class
- Collaborate with support staff and adapt learning experiences for a diverse classroom
