Serve communities near Sylva and Waynesville, NC by helping students achieve their fullest potential in both classroom and home settings. As the sole OT for this assignment, your impact will span a broad range of needs, including in-person school-based services and teletherapy options.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Occupational Therapy license in North Carolina
- Prior experience in school settings strongly preferred
- Background delivering OT via teletherapy platforms a plus
- Skills in assessing and developing fine motor abilities in children and adolescents
- Familiarity with home health OT and general healthcare-based therapy models is advantageous
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and educators
Responsibilities:
- Administer comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and interpret findings to inform educational goals
- Design and implement individualized intervention plans, focusing on fine motor skills and daily living activities relevant to school and home environments
- Provide direct therapy sessions both onsite and virtually, adapting techniques to meet the needs of a diverse student population
- Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings, contribute to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and document student progress thoroughly
- Offer training and support to teachers and caregivers to reinforce therapy strategies outside sessions
