Physical Therapist - School Setting in Lehigh Acres, FL

An exciting opportunity awaits for a dedicated Physical Therapist to work on a full-time contract basis during the 2026-2027 school year. This role is based on-site near Lehigh Acres, FL, and will involve supporting students across multiple school campuses within the district, serving a diverse PreK-12 population. As an itinerant Physical Therapist, you’ll play a vital role in helping students reach their fullest potential by addressing their mobility, functional, and developmental needs in the educational environment.

Requirements:

• Valid Physical Therapist license from the Florida Department of Health
• Master’s or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy
• Experience or interest in working with a pediatric and school-based caseload spanning Pre K through 12th grade
• Ability to travel between assigned schools as needed
• Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills
• Successful completion of fingerprinting and credentialing requirements, including verification or acquisition of a JLA badge (transfer possible from other FL districts)
• Commitment to on-site service (this position is not open to telepractice/VOCO)

Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments and develop individualized therapy plans for students
• Provide direct and consultative PT services in accordance with IEP requirements
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and required documentation
• Attend meetings and contribute to student support planning
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe environment for learning and growth
