Job Description
Step into an impactful opportunity supporting young learners as a Certified Elementary Cognitively Impaired (CI) Teacher. Serve K–2 students in a dynamic, onsite setting and make a meaningful difference for students with diverse needs. This full-time contract role starts August 31, 2026, and continues through June 24, 2027.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current Special Education License with CI or ASD endorsement
- Certification in CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention), or willingness to obtain and renew annually
- Experience working with students who have cognitive impairments, particularly at the elementary level
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with families and educational staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction, adapting curriculum to meet the needs of K–2 students with cognitive impairments
- Create supportive, engaging learning experiences that promote academic and social growth
- Implement IEPs and monitor progress, making adjustments as needed
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Apply CPI strategies to ensure a positive, safe classroom climate
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to support student success
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines
