Are you an experienced CNC Machine Tool Service Technician looking to work on some of the most advanced manufacturing equipment in the defense industry? We're seeking a hands-on technician to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain large CNC machine tools supporting critical defense manufacturing operations at the General Dynamics Land Systems facility in Lima, Ohio.

What You'll Do

\n
Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair advanced CNC machine tools
\n
Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid schematics
\n
Troubleshoot electrical and servo-driven machine systems
\n
Diagnose and repair spindle assemblies, gearboxes, and mechanical components
\n
Perform machine leveling, laser alignment, and precision geometry verification
\n
Complete CNC geometry and axis compensation
\n
Troubleshoot closed-loop and open-loop axis control systems
\n
Perform customer acceptance testing
\n
Provide maintenance training to customers
\n
Mentor and train junior service technicians
\n
Support continuous product improvement through customer feedback

Qualifications

\n
Minimum 4 years of Machine Tool Service experience
\n
Strong CNC machine troubleshooting experience
\n
Ability to interpret electrical and fluid schematics
\n
Experience with servo systems
\n
Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
\n
Experience with spindle repair, gearboxes, and machine alignment
\n
Experience using laser alignment and geometry measuring equipment
\n
Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints
\n
Strong communication and customer service skills
\n
Valid driver's license
\n
U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications

\n
5-Axis Traori setup experience
\n
Automatic Tool Changer troubleshooting
\n
Fanuc, Siemens, or Heidenhain CNC controls
\n
OEM Machine Tool experience

Travel

\n
Travel required (approximately 15%)
\n
Occasional overnight travel as project needs require
