Senior Tax Associate
Job Description
Our client, a wealth management firm based in Richmond, VA is searching for a Senior Tax Associate.
\nOur client is a growing wealth management firm serving high-net-worth individuals, with an integrated tax and financial planning offering. They're hiring a Senior Tax Associate to join their Tax team, reporting into the Tax & Financial Planning Manager.
\nThis is a strong fit for someone with public accounting experience who wants to move into a firm where tax and planning work sit side by side, and where the client base is sophisticated but the team is small enough that your work has real visibility.
\nWhat you'll be doing
\nYou'll manage a caseload within a book of roughly 250 tax clients, focusing on estate and trust tax return preparation for high-net-worth individuals. Day to day, that means preparing and reviewing complex individual, trust, and estate returns, working closely with the financial planning side to make sure tax strategy and planning advice are aligned, and using the firm's tax and planning platforms to manage workflow and client data. You'll also have direct client contact, particularly around tax planning conversations tied to broader wealth management relationships.
\n(Confirm with the client that this reflects the actual split of responsibilities, especially how much client-facing work is expected versus preparation and review.)
\nWhat you'll need
\n- \n
- CPA or Enrolled Agent certification, or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire \n
- At least 2 years of public accounting experience \n
- Experience preparing estate and trust tax returns for high-net-worth individuals \n
- Proficiency with CCH Axcess Tax, Bloomberg Income Tax Planner, Canopy, or a comparable tax platform \n
Location and structure
\nRichmond, VA. Hybrid, three days onsite and two days remote per week.
\nCompensation
\n$80,000 to $100,000 base, plus bonus.
