Job Description
Make a difference in students' lives supporting learners in a self-contained LD classroom. This full-time opportunity offers a contract position for a dedicated Special Education Teacher at the middle school level. You’ll be working on-site and providing essential guidance and instruction to students with learning disabilities in a supportive environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Special Education Teacher certification for South Carolina, or eligibility/pending status
- Experience teaching in an LD/self-contained classroom preferred
- Deep understanding of differentiated instruction and IEP implementation
- Patience, adaptability, and exceptional communication skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, encouraging environment
Responsibilities:
- Teach and support students in a self-contained classroom for learning disabilities
- Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to individual student needs
- Monitor progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with IEPs and school standards
- Collaborate with general education staff, support personnel, and families
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive school culture
