Job Description
Make a lasting impact in the lives of young learners as a Certified Elementary Cognitively Impaired (CI) Teacher in a welcoming educational setting near Warren, MI. This full-time onsite contract opportunity allows you to provide essential support and instruction to students in grades K–2, fostering their growth in a positive and collaborative environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Special Education License with CI or ASD endorsement required
- Certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), or willingness to obtain and maintain CPI certification annually
- Experience working with elementary-aged students with cognitive impairments is highly valued
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with students, families, and colleagues
- Passion for creating inclusive and supportive learning experiences
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students’ unique learning needs
- Deliver engaging and differentiated instruction to students in K–2
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, specialists, and support staff to promote an integrated and accessible learning environment
- Foster a safe and nurturing classroom atmosphere with a consistent approach to behavior management and positive reinforcement
- Maintain accurate documentation and provide regular progress updates to families and team members
- Support crisis prevention and intervention strategies as part of the school’s commitment to student well-being
