Job Description
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a vibrant and diverse school setting. With five full-time positions available—four at the elementary level and one at the middle school level—this role offers the chance to make a profound impact across various grade levels. Onsite responsibilities begin August 24, 2026, and extend through June 10, 2027, with a consistent 35-hour work week between 8:30 AM and 4 PM (no alternate schedules).
Key Qualifications:
- Active, valid certification or licensure for special education caseloads
- Bachelor’s degree (required if applying for emergency teaching permit)
- Prior experience working in a school environment, preferably within urban communities
- Comprehensive understanding of special education instructional strategies and content mastery
- Demonstrated skill in classroom and behavioral management
- Ability to build engaging lesson plans aligned with state and district standards, incorporating formative assessment and data-driven differentiation
- Reliable transportation and willingness to commute onsite
- Full completion of all Pennsylvania clearances prior to start date
- Comfort working within district and school guidelines
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, adapt, and implement individualized education plans tailored to diverse student needs
- Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to deliver inclusive, supportive instruction
- Maintain ongoing documentation and communication regarding student progress and behavior
