Job Description
Take the next step in your career as a Special Education Teacher supporting middle school students for the 2026-2027 school year! This rewarding contract position offers the opportunity to cover a leave for a vital middle school caseload, working on-site in a collaborative and supportive school environment. Working hours are approximately 6:45 am to 2:45 pm, with a full-time schedule ranging from 35 to 40 hours per week.
The ideal candidate will bring dedication, specialized knowledge, and a commitment to fostering student growth. Spanish language skills are valued but not required for this role.
Qualifications:
- Active or pending Special Education certification for Delaware required
- Experience supporting middle school students preferred
- Ability to work onsite throughout the contract period
- Successful completion of drug screening and background check needed
- Spanish language proficiency is a bonus
Responsibilities:
- Manage and support assigned middle school caseload
- Adapt lesson plans to meet individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers and related services staff
- Collect data to monitor and report student progress
- Participate in IEP meetings and communicate with families as needed
- Create a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
