As a Special Education Teacher, you will work full-time, dedicating 37.5 hours each week to support students at a single elementary campus. You’ll have the chance to contribute to specialized programs, collaborating with colleagues and families to create inclusive and transformative learning experiences.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Valid Texas Special Education (EC-12) teaching certificate
  • Demonstrated expertise in special education settings, including life skills, autism support, or behavior-focused classrooms
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities
  • Proficiency in adapting curriculum and instruction for diverse learners
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Must be able to complete fingerprinting with the Texas Education Agency unless cleared recently by another Texas public school district (allow up to 7 days for results)

What You’ll Do:

  • Deliver engaging instruction in classrooms with students receiving life skills, autism, or behavioral support services
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student strengths and needs
  • Collaborate with paraeducators, school staff, and family members to monitor student growth
  • Use data-driven interventions and accommodations to enhance student success
  • Maintain compliance with all state and federal special education regulations
  • Build positive relationships with students, nurturing their confidence and independence

This contract begins August 11, 2026 and continues through May 28, 2027. You’ll become an integral part of a dedicated special education team at one elementary school in the Mesquite area, making a meaningful difference in students’ lives every day.
