Draw quality blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures.
Prepare specimens for laboratory testing with accuracy and attention to detail.
Verify patient demographic information and ensure proper labeling and documentation of samples.
Create a safe, professional, and welcoming environment for patients during specimen collection.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of each collection event.
Travel to various patient service centers and in-office locations as needed, adhering to scheduled appointments and timetables.
Follow all safety protocols, policies, and procedures to promote a secure environment for patients and staff.
Communicate openly with patients, colleagues, and supervisors to ensure smooth operations and high-quality service.
Required Skills
Proven phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in specimen collection and documentation.
Excellent communication skills to explain procedures and build trust with patients.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
High level of organization and ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
1-3 years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
Experience working in a patient service center environment is advantageous.
Reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record is essential.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime to meet staffing needs.
Ability to travel between multiple sites, submitting mileage for expense reimbursement.
