This role will play a critical part in driving bid accuracy, profitability, and operational alignment, while influencing key decisions at both the project and leadership levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of estimators to improve performance and productivity
- Oversee the full estimating process from bid strategy through final proposal approval
- Review and validate estimates to ensure accuracy, competitiveness, and compliance
- Partner with operations, project controls, and sales teams to align bids with execution strategy
- Utilize historical data and production metrics to develop accurate labor and cost models
- Identify risks, opportunities, and value-engineering solutions during the bid process
- Support client interactions, pre-bid meetings, and scope clarification discussions
- Ensure all estimates align with safety, quality, and risk management standards
- Drive continuous improvement of estimating tools, processes, and cost databases
- Present estimates, pricing strategy, and margin analysis to senior leadership
- 6+ years of estimating experience
- Prior leadership or team management experience
- Background in construction or industrial services
- Strong understanding of project costing, productivity factors, and bid strategy
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs, and project scope
