Responsibilities

- Draw blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures to ensure safety and accuracy.- Prepare, label, and process specimens for laboratory testing in accordance with protocols.- Verify patient demographic information and ensure proper labeling of specimens in patients' presence.- Maintain accurate records and documentation of collection activities.- Create a reassuring environment by explaining procedures to patients and addressing their concerns.- Perform specimen collection and processing duties with confidence and professionalism.- Follow safety policies, dress codes, and operational procedures to promote a safe working environment.- Exhibit leadership behaviors, process excellence, and a commitment to confidentiality and accuracy.- Adapt to multiple locations and work schedules, including weekends, holidays, and overtime, as needed.- Assist in maintaining a positive image and organizational commitment through excellent customer service.

Required Skills

- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in specimen labeling and documentation.- Good communication skills for interacting with patients, peers, and supervisors.- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license, if applicable.

Additional Skills & Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent required.- Phlebotomy certification preferred; medical assistant or paramedic training is a plus.- 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections.- Experience in a patient service center environment preferred.- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call duties.- Capable of handling multiple priorities efficiently.- Travel required to cover multiple locations with short notice.- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation are necessary in applicable states.
