Per Diem Mail Order Long Term Care Staff Pharmacist in Horsham, PA
Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This role offers an opportunity to practice pharmacy in a focused long-term care and mail order environment. You will be working per diem on an evening shift, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, including every other weekend. The position is a 6-week contract and is based in Horsham, PA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately.
- Monitor patient medication compliance and identify over-usage patterns.
- Ensure medicine supply adheres to legal requirements.
- Verify that prescribed medicines are suitable for patients.
- Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy documentation.
- Educate patients on medication usage, possible reactions, and answer their questions.
- Provide consultation on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including dosage, side effects, and interactions.
- Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management.
- Instruct patients on the appropriate use of medical devices like glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.
- Compound medications for internal and external use following proper protocols.
- Prepare sterile solutions in compliance with established procedures.
- Supervise pharmacy personnel including technicians and clerks.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
- Identify drug-related problems and communicate effectively with healthcare providers.
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Licensed Pharmacist in Pennsylvania.
- Pharmacy experience required.
- Experience in long-term care and mail order pharmacy preferred.
Schedule:
- Evenings, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Every other weekend required.
