Explore a rewarding opportunity supporting early learners in an inclusive environment as a Pre-K Special Education Teacher. This contract role offers both Preschool Disabilities (PSD) and Preschool Intervention (PSI) classroom settings, engaging students and families to foster growth and success. Located near Elizabeth, NJ, this full-time position runs from September 1, 2026, through June 25, 2027.

Open Positions:

  • PSD Teacher: Guide students in a self-contained Preschool Disabilities classroom. Plan and facilitate individualized lessons based on student IEPs. Collaborate closely with related service providers, school staff, and families to optimize instructional outcomes.
  • PSI Teacher: Deliver targeted support in a Preschool Intervention classroom, focusing on academic, social, and developmental growth. Utilize evidence-based strategies in partnership with multidisciplinary teams and caregivers.

Required Credentials:

  • Active New Jersey Preschool through Grade 3 (P-3) Certification
  • For PSD roles: Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) or Teacher of the Handicapped (TOH) certification
  • For PSI roles: New Jersey Special Education Certification (TOSD or TOH accepted)
  • Demonstrated experience working with preschool-aged children with disabilities preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaborative team skills
  • Proven ability to develop and implement instruction guided by IEPs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Craft engaging, differentiated lesson plans aligned with individual student needs
  • Foster a positive, structured classroom environment that supports every child
  • Assess and document student progress, updating IEP goals and strategies as necessary
  • Build strong relationships with families, service providers, and school personnel
