Job Description
Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting young learners as an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher with a contract position available for the coming school year. In this role, you’ll work with children ages 3-5, fostering growth and development during crucial early years. This long-term substitute assignment runs from late August through December, with the possibility for extension if another staff member requires a leave of absence. Full-time hours (37.5 per week) are preferred, but part-time morning schedules can be considered to accommodate the right candidate’s needs.
Key qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota teaching license with Early Childhood Special Education endorsement and dual certification
- Previous experience working with preschoolers or early childhood special education programs is highly desirable
- Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with families, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
- Ability to create inclusive, engaging lesson plans that support diverse learning needs
- Excellent communication, patience, and creativity in adapting curriculum for young learners
- Ability to provide documentation: current license PDF and professional resume
Primary responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to children ages 3-5 with special education needs
- Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with the educational team
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
- Communicate regularly with families and caregivers regarding student growth
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all required reporting
