Responsibilities

Draw blood samples from patients of all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established safety and accuracy protocols.

Prepare collected specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling, handling, and documentation.

Maintain accurate records of all specimen collections and related activities in accordance with facility procedures.

Create a welcoming and professional environment for patients by explaining procedures and building trust.

Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work area to promote a safe clinical environment.

Perform data entry related to specimen collection and patient information with attention to detail and confidentiality.

Work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating leadership behaviors and process excellence.

Adhere to scheduling requirements, including working weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Required Skills

Ability to perform high-quality, error-free phlebotomy procedures

Strong communication skills for explaining procedures and providing patient comfort

Proficiency in data entry and maintaining accurate records

Capability to work independently with minimal supervision

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Additional Skills & Requirements

Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; 1+ years preferred

Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington

High school diploma or equivalent required

Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred

Reliable transportation to the worksite; candidates should list their home city and commute time on their resume

Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and on-call duties

Availability to work scheduled shifts and remain for the entire shift period; punctuality is essential
