Per Diem Mail Order Long Term Care Staff Pharmacist in Lansdale, PA

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A pharmacy professional is sought for a per diem Staff Pharmacist position supporting a long-term care and mail order environment. This role offers an opportunity to work Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with shifts every other weekend, over a six-week contract period.

Location: Lansdale, PA
Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm
• Every other weekend

Key Responsibilities:

• Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications to patients
• Monitor patient medication compliance and identify patterns of over-usage
• Ensure medication supply and distribution comply with legal and safety standards
• Verify that prescribed medicines are appropriate for patients’ conditions
• Maintain confidential, accurate records of all patients and pharmacy transactions
• Provide medication counseling, explaining usage, possible side effects, and answering questions
• Offer patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management
• Educate patients on medical devices, including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
• Compound both external and internal medications and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols
• Supervise pharmacy staff including pharmacy technicians and clerks to ensure smooth operations
• Maintain proper inventory levels of pharmaceutical and medical supplies
• Identify and communicate drug-related patient issues to prescribers and healthcare teams

Qualifications:

• Licensed pharmacist in Pennsylvania
• Previous pharmacy experience required
• Experience in long-term care and mail order pharmacy environments preferred
