Job Description
An opportunity is available for experienced pharmacists seeking to provide expert inpatient pharmacy care in hospital settings along the California Central Coast. This travel assignment offers the chance to contribute clinical skills in dynamic hospital environments while enjoying the flexibility of travel work.
Locations include San Luis Obispo, CA, and Templeton, CA, with shifts available for days (4 ten-hour shifts per week) and nights (rotating 7 on/7 off schedule). This assignment is set for a duration of 13 weeks or longer, with an ASAP start date.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify medication orders with precision and accuracy
- Supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure optimal workflow and safety
- Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to optimize patient care plans
- Apply pharmacokinetics knowledge to individualize patient medication therapy
- Utilize Cerner and Omnicell systems efficiently during daily operations
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active California pharmacist license is mandatory
- Minimum of 1 year of recent inpatient pharmacy experience preferred
- Proficiency with both EPIC and Cerner electronic medical record systems highly desired
- Strong communication and teamwork skills essential for interdisciplinary collaboration
Schedule:
- Day shifts: 4 ten-hour shifts per week
- Night shifts: 7 consecutive nights on, 7 days off rotation
