Play a vital role supporting K-12 students as a Special Education Teacher in a full-time contract position, working closely with learners across a broad spectrum of abilities and needs. Located in the heart of the Magic Valley, you’ll be an essential member of a dynamic special education team throughout the academic year.
Qualifications:
- Current Idaho State Teaching Certificate
- Idaho Exceptional Child Certificate (required)
- Special Education endorsement (SPED endorsement)
- Prior experience in resource or self-contained (ERC) settings preferred
- Ability and willingness to assist with toileting and personal care as needed
- Strong skills in collaboration and effective teamwork
- Experience or comfort teaching students with mild, moderate, severe, and medically fragile needs.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and differentiated support to K-12 students with a mix of disabilities and severity levels (more caseload details to come)
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in partnership with multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with state/federal regulations
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, families, and paraprofessionals for student success
- Provide ongoing assessment, track student progress, and adjust plans accordingly
- Employ evidence-based strategies to foster engagement and independence
