Pharmacy Supervisor – Compounding Pharmacy
Location: Bakersfield, CA
Setting: Animal Health / Compounding Pharmacy
Position Type: Full-Time, Onsite
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM–5:15 PM
Compensation: $160,000–$185,000 base salary + bonus, based on experience
Benefits: Eligible

A dynamic role is available for a Pharmacy Supervisor to lead a skilled team of pharmacists in an animal health compounding pharmacy. This position requires a dedicated professional to manage daily operations, maintain compliance with regulatory standards, and foster continuous improvement in compounding practices to ensure the highest quality of preparations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of pharmacists, fostering a productive and compliant work environment
  • Set clear productivity benchmarks and quality standards for compounding operations
  • Oversee daily workflow and support compounding processes to meet operational goals
  • Ensure adherence to USP guidelines, State Board regulations, and 503A requirements
  • Maintain accurate training documentation and enforce proper compounding procedures
  • Assist with drug selection for dispensing and customized compounded prescriptions
  • Identify opportunities for process or formulation improvements to enhance efficiency and quality
  • Collaborate closely with pharmacy leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with all company policies and governmental regulations

Qualifications:

  • Current California Pharmacist license in good standing
  • BS in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a pharmacy lab environment
  • 2–5 years of compounding pharmacy experience, preferably in animal health
  • Strong knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, <800>, State Board regulations, and 503A compounding standards
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and mentoring capabilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
