Job Description
Step into a dynamic contract opportunity supporting students across multiple school sites near Baton Rouge as a School Psychologist for the upcoming academic year. This part-time, 29-hour-per-week position, with the potential for a hybrid schedule, spans from late July through late May and focuses on K-12 students. You’ll engage directly with families, collaborate with educators, and play a pivotal role as a member of a multidisciplinary team. A couple of professional development days at the start allow you to get oriented and build connections from day one.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current Louisiana Department of Education certification in School Psychology is required
- Demonstrated expertise in conducting psychoeducational evaluations and ensuring IDEA compliance
- Skilled in interpreting assessment data and writing clear, comprehensive evaluation reports
- Thorough knowledge of special education eligibility and multidisciplinary teaming processes
- Proven ability to communicate assessment results effectively to families, educators, and administrators
- Organized, detail-oriented, and adept at tracking deadlines for compliance
- Professional experience collaborating with diagnosticians, social workers, SLPs, and administrators
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct educational assessments to identify student needs, submitting reports within required timelines
- Provide referrals and direct support to students and families using best practices
- Partner with school personnel to implement strategies and support for students and parents
- Maintain accurate case records and documentation for program accountability
- Participate in interpreting test results, planning individualized education programs, and providing in-service training
- Explain assessment processes to families, staff, and administrators
- Select, score, and interpret assessment tools; deliver timely, actionable evaluations
Credentialing requirements include a district background check and fingerprinting.
