\n\nDepartment Overview:
\nThe Air Defense Ground Equipment Mechanical Design Department is responsible for the mechanical design, development, and integration of critical defense platform systems.
\nThis includes radar and communications shelters, electronic subsystems, launchers, hardware integration, and system interconnects.
\n\nRole is an On-Site role in Tewksbury, MA/Andover, MA
\n\nWhat You Will Do
\n- \n
- Lead execution of major programs and mid- to large-scale cross-functional engineering teams across all development phases \n
- Serve as SME and technical liaison to programs/IPTs, ensuring stakeholder alignment \n
- Oversee technical performance of design teams and provide lifecycle engineering guidance \n
- Lead proposal efforts, EAC activities, and manage schedule, cost, and technical commitments \n
- Drive TDP development, peer reviews, and hardware engineering process improvements \n
- Perform complex mechanical design, development, and documentation for defense systems \n
- Support product integration with domestic/international factories and suppliers \n
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, Chief Engineers, and suppliers to deliver robust, production-ready solutions \n
Qualifications You Must Have
\n- \n
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years’ experience. \n
- Mechanical equipment design and development experience, preferably in defense/military environments \n
- Proven engineering team leadership with accountability for cost, schedule, and technical performance; project budgeting and scheduling experience \n
- Prior Experience collaborating within Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and cross-functional organizations, including customer engagement \n
- Experience with hands-on mechanical design, from trade studies and concept development through production transition and supplier support \n
- Experience conducting RCCA, driving cost reduction initiatives, and producing technical documentation/white papers \n
- Broad expertise in mechanical design, materials, manufacturing processes, CAD, and PDM systems \n
- The ability to travel domestically and internationally \n
Qualifications We Prefer
\nAdvanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related hardware systems field
\nElectronic packaging design experience (subsystems, modules, CCAs, PWBs, interconnects for RF/digital/power)
\nDesign, fabrication, and integration of electronic assemblies, shelters, racks, and PDUs
\nKnowledge of military/commercial specifications and ASME Y14.5 GD&T
\nExperience with ECAD processes, interconnects, cables/harnesses, and material selection/finishes
\nProficiency in Creo CAD, Windchill PDM (or similar), and configuration/change management
\nSkilled in Microsoft Office with strong communication and technical writing abilities
\nSelf-driven team player able to manage multiple priorities and travel as needed

\nThe salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
