Job Title: Wastewater Project Manager

Location: Onsite in Akron, OH (preferred) or Dalton, GA; Chattanooga, TN; Nashville, TN

Job Type: Direct Placement (Permanent)

Compensation: $120,000 – $160,000 per year


Job Summary

Insight Global is seeking a Wastewater Project Manager to support a client in the engineering consulting industry. This individual will lead the planning, design, and construction of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget. The ideal candidate is highly organized, able to manage multiple projects, and brings strong leadership and interpersonal skills.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, design, and construction of municipal water/wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and overall delivery timelines
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams across project phases
  • Oversee development of technical documents including proposals, reports, specifications, and contract deliverables
  • Communicate with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance and strong relationships
  • Support business development efforts and identify new opportunities
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide leadership across project teams


Required Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Ohio (or ability to obtain quickly)
  • 8+ years of experience in wastewater or municipal infrastructure engineering
  • Experience managing wastewater treatment plant projects from design through construction
  • Strong project management experience including scheduling and budgeting
  • Experience preparing proposals, technical reports, and specifications
  • Demonstrated leadership managing cross-functional teams


Preferred Qualifications

  • Business development and client relationship management experience
  • Experience across multiple engineering disciplines (stormwater, distribution systems, pump/lift stations, etc.)
