Job Description
Make a real difference in students’ lives by supporting multiple school sites as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a dynamic educational environment near Independence, MO. This contract opportunity is designed to cover an FMLA leave from August 24th to September 25th, with possible extension. You’ll enjoy autonomy over your daily schedule as you collaborate with school teams to provide quality therapy services across elementary, middle, and high school settings.
What we’re seeking:
- Valid Missouri COTA license
- Recent experience working in K-12 settings, preferably as a school-based COTA
- Excellent organizational skills to manage a caseload across multiple school sites
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families
- Ability to work independently while receiving initial oversight
- Commitment to providing consistent, student-centered care throughout the assignment
Your day-to-day impact:
- Serve approximately 32 direct students per week (with a total of about 800 service minutes)
- Coordinate with educational staff to deliver high-quality occupational therapy interventions
- Complete documentation and required reports in a timely, thorough manner
- Ensure all caseload students at Oakwood Manor Elem, NKC High School, Gracemor Elem, and Northgate Middle receive weekly services
- Flexibly manage your schedule to meet student needs across schools (approximately 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, 7.5 hours per day)
