Responsibilities
- Complete accurate patient pre-registration and registration processes.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility, coverage, and benefits prior to or at the time of service.
- Obtain and verify required authorizations in accordance with insurance payer guidelines.
- Accurately enter physician orders into the appropriate systems and modules as required.
- Identify, communicate, and collect patient financial responsibility, including copays and deductibles.
- Maintain accurate patient records and demographic information.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, physicians, and internal departments.
- Resolve registration, insurance, and billing-related issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure a positive patient experience.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous hospital, healthcare, medical office, insurance, or patient access experience preferred.
- Experience with insurance verification, patient registration, or medical scheduling is a plus.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and negotiation abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
- Comfortable working with healthcare systems and electronic patient records.
