Position Title: Industrial Engineer

Location: In-Person, 5 days a week onsite 7:30-4:00 EST

Salary: $70K-100K/YR

Job Overview:

The Industrial Engineer is responsible for optimizing production processes and managing planning and scheduling within a manufacturing facility. This role drives demand planning for raw materials, chemicals, and production inputs using customer orders and forecasts, while partnering closely with purchasing and production teams to maintain proper inventory levels. The engineer coordinates daily and long-term production schedules to meet shipment timelines and monitors material flow to identify shortages or inefficiencies.

A strong focus is placed on continuous improvement through workflow analysis, cost reduction, and quality enhancements. The role also leads lean initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen, and value stream mapping, and conducts time studies to establish and maintain production and labor standards, ensuring efficient and reliable operations aligned with business goals.

Day-To-Day Responsibilities:

• Plan monthly raw material and chemical requirements based on orders

• Prepare annual production and demand forecasts

• Manage inventory levels with purchasing team

• Communicate material needs and timing to purchasing

• Adjust production schedules and coordinate urgent orders

• Monitor material flow and identify shortages or bottlenecks

• Track daily production plans and machine scheduling

• Analyze workflows to reduce waste and improve efficiency

• Conduct time studies and maintain production standards

• Lead lean initiatives like 5S, Kaizen, and value stream mapping

• Recommend cost reduction and quality improvements

Must-Haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering

• 2 to 5 years of manufacturing or industrial engineering experience

• Experience with production planning or scheduling

• Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies

• Understanding of manufacturing processes and systems

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic computer skills

• Strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills
