Job Description

A contract opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher with expertise working in 1st and 2nd grade, within a blended classroom setting. This assignment begins on August 3, 2026, and continues through May 21, 2027. You’ll provide instruction and support five days a week, 35 hours weekly, tailoring individualized plans for students within your caseload, and collaborating closely with general education staff to deliver an inclusive classroom experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Georgia Special Education Teaching Certification
- Demonstrated experience teaching or supporting special education in elementary grades
- Understanding of IEP development and special education compliance
- Strong skills in differentiated instruction and behavioral management
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to partner effectively with staff, families, and specialists
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach and support 1st and 2nd graders in a blended classroom setting
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans based on student goals
- Track progress and adjust strategies to promote student success
- Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
- Maintain detailed records and support IEP meetings
- Communicate progress regularly with families and team members
