Job Description
Make a difference in the lives of middle school students as a Special Education Teacher for a contract role in the 2026/2027 school year. This opportunity involves supporting a vibrant middle school community by covering a leave and working with a diverse caseload of students.
This full-time position offers the chance to play a vital part in student development, all while collaborating with a dedicated team of educators. Hours typically run from 6:45 AM to 2:45 PM, Monday through Friday, providing work-life balance and the ability to focus on meaningful instruction during the day.
We are seeking professionals who bring not only expertise, but a genuine passion for supporting students with special needs in an inclusive, supportive environment. Spanish language skills are a strong asset, though not required.
Key Qualifications:
- Active or pending Delaware Special Education Teacher certification (required)
- Experience or strong interest in teaching middle school students with diverse learning needs
- Ability to work full-time, on-site, throughout the duration of the leave
- Willingness to undergo and pass a background check and drug screening
- Spanish language proficiency is beneficial
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Provide direct instruction and support tailored to each student’s unique needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related services, and families
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate student progress regularly
