Job Description
Make a meaningful impact in special education by supporting students in grades ranging from elementary through high school. We are seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers for contract assignments for the 2026-2027 school year. Multiple roles are available, including one in Autistic Support at the elementary level, one in Middle School Learning Support, and four in High School Learning Support. These positions are conveniently located near Whitehall, PA, and offer opportunities to build supportive, thriving learning environments for children with diverse needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate required by the start date (emergency permits sponsored by HR if needed)
- Previous experience or a strong interest in either Autistic Support (elementary), Learning Support (middle or high school)
- Passion for individualized instruction and a collaborative approach to education
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to fostering inclusion and student growth
Responsibilities:
- Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s strengths and challenges
- Collaborate with colleagues, families, and related service providers to support student success
- Adapt curriculum and use targeted strategies for students with learning differences or autism
- Maintain accurate records, monitor progress, and provide regular updates
- Foster a safe and positive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and confidence
Position Details:
- 35 hours per week
- Contract dates: August 24, 2026 – June 10, 2027
- Schedule:
- Elementary: 8:15 am – 3:45 pm
- Middle School: 7:15 am – 2:45 pm
- High School: 7:13 am – 2:43 pm
