Job Description
Make a lasting impact supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing through engaging virtual instruction for the upcoming school year. This full-time, contract position is tailored for certified teachers eager to work remotely and help learners thrive academically and socially from the comfort of their own environment.
Your role will involve providing specialized online instruction, utilizing your expertise to meet each student’s individual needs and support their communication development. The assignment is full-time (35 hours/week) during the standard school schedule, allowing you to establish meaningful connections and continuity of care throughout the academic year.
Qualifications:
- Valid Louisiana Department of Education teaching certification
- Active teaching license in your current state of residence
- Background in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education, with experience or training in virtual teaching preferred
- Familiarity with various communication modalities used by students who are D/HH
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt instruction for a diverse student population
Responsibilities:
- Deliver synchronous virtual instruction to students who are deaf/hard of hearing
- Collaborate with other educational staff, families, and service providers to support student goals
- Develop and implement IEPs or 504 Plans in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Collect data, monitor progress, and adjust strategies as needed based on student performance
- Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities
