Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a contract paraprofessional at a vibrant academy serving the Champlin and Brooklyn Park communities. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about special education and eager to contribute to a team dedicated to student growth and success.

You'll support classrooms in one of several essential programs: Special Education Resource, Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) center-based, or the Ready Set LAUNCH center-based program. Please indicate your preferred program when applying. Flexibility and a readiness to assist with all aspects of student care—including toileting—are essential for all support staff.

Qualifications:

  • Highly Qualified status is required by one of the following:
    • Passing score on the MN Board Highly Qualified Para Exam
    • A minimum of 60 college credits (transcripts required, diploma/degree not sufficient)
  • Resume and highly qualified documentation (test score or transcripts) must be submitted with your application
  • A supportive, adaptable demeanor and willingness to meet student needs
  • Team-oriented with the ability to communicate effectively with staff and students

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist educators in delivering individual and small-group instruction
  • Implement behavior and academic interventions as directed
  • Support students' daily routines and self-care as needed
  • Foster an inclusive, positive learning environment
  • Collaborate with educators and families to enhance student success

Position Details and Benefits:

  • Contract position, Monday through Friday, 32.5 hours per week during the academic year
  • Opportunity for direct hire with the district after completing 422 contract hours
  • Compensation begins at $20 per hour, based on qualifications and district review
