Step into a rewarding high school classroom role as a General Education English Language Arts teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract position is based in the New Orleans area, providing the chance to help shape students’ academic growth and inspire a love of learning every day. You will work full time, Monday through Friday, following the school calendar with 7-hour days and a 30-minute midday break.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active, valid Louisiana Department of Education teaching certificate (no TAT—candidates must hold full certification at the time of application)
  • Background in teaching ELA—high school experience preferred
  • Able to fulfill credentialing requirements: successful drug screening and fingerprinting for district and agency compliance
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • Motivated to engage and support high school learners in a structured educational environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, standards-based English Language Arts instruction to high school students
  • Design creative lesson plans tailored to diverse learners
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to guide growth
  • Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to support overall school goals
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and communications
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom climate

This role offers a full-time weekly schedule of 35 hours, ensuring time to both teach and recharge. Assignments and caseload specifics will be determined in collaboration with the school, allowing for a targeted and effective classroom experience.
