    Substitute - Instructional

    \n

    Primary Focus:
    \n Oversee lessons and maintain order in the classroom when the regular classroom teacher is unavailable.
    \n

    \n

    Reports to: Assistant Superintendent

    \n

    Supervises: No direct reports

    \n

    Classification: Non-Exempt

    \n

    Responsibilities:
    \n Maintain and respect the confidentiality of student and school personnel information
    \n Maintain discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and positive learning environment for all students and staff in accordance with school policies
    \n Ensure the adequate supervision to assure the health, welfare, and safety of all students
    \n Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
    \n Report to the office upon arrival at school
    \n Report all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to the appropriate authority immediately or as soon as is reasonably possible
    \n Implement lesson plans, while ensuring the integrity of academic time, and in a manner that motivates students to learn and participate
    \n Organize students for effective instruction
    \n Dismiss all students from the classroom before leaving the building
    \n Collect and place students' papers in the regular teacher's desk
    \n Return instructional materials, equipment, and keys to the proper place
    \n Follow all policies, rules, and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates
    \n Report to the office before departure from school.
    \n Maintain a low substitute cancellation rate
    \n Comply with NPCS policies
    \n Regularly check the assigned school email account and complete annual employee training
    \n Perform other duties as assigned

    \n

    Experience, Education, and Licensing Requirements:
    \n IDOE Substitute Teaching permit, and 2 years of experience working with children in an educational setting, passing the ParaPro, or 48 hours of college credit

    \n

    Physical Demands:
    \n Ability to work at a desk, conference table, or in meetings of various configurations
    \n Ability to see for the purpose of reading laws and codes, rules and policies, and other printed materials
    \n Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally
    \n Ability to reach in all directions
    \n Ability to stand for extended periods of time
    \n Ability to operate office equipment . Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels
    \n Ability to communicate so others will be able to understand a typical conversation clearly.

    \n

    SALARY: $110/day for Teacher job; $15.95/hour for IA job

    \n

    HOURS / DAY: Varies

    \n
