Insight Global is seeking Field Engineers for a leading electrical services organization supporting mission-critical environments.


Location: Dallas, TX
Salary: $115,000–$130,000 (up to $140,000 for highly qualified candidates)
Schedule: Typically, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM (varies by project/site)
Travel: 30–50%+ travel required, including overnight stays

The first year involves the most travel, as the team focuses heavily on training in New Jersey while also providing exposure to a variety of project sites and real-world fieldwork. Every engineer is provided with a company truck, and client covers all travel expenses for any job site outside the Northern Virginia area.


Position Overview

This role is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, commissioning, and repairing low- and medium-voltage electrical systems at customer sites, with a strong focus on data center operations and critical power infrastructure. This is a highly hands-on position that offers significant growth opportunities, including the potential to advance into a Site Lead role. The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex technical issues, thrives in customer-facing environments, and is committed to delivering safe, reliable, and high-quality service.


Required Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of field service experience supporting electrical power systems
  • Experience troubleshooting switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, and power distribution equipment
  • Low- and medium-voltage electrical systems experience
  • Startup, commissioning, maintenance, and repair experience
  • Data center, mission-critical, or industrial electrical experience
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel 30–50%+
  • Safety-focused with OSHA compliance experience
  • High School Diploma or GED


Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • NFPA 70E and/or OSHA 30 certifications
  • Experience with PLCs, SCADA, and protective relays
  • Protective relay testing and preventive maintenance experience
  • Familiarity with ERP and field service software
  • Experience using electrical testing equipment (multimeters, breaker test sets, etc.)
  • Interest in growing into a Site Lead role
