Special Education Teacher – Inclusion Math (5th & 6th Grade)
Location: Washington, D.C.
We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a full-time contract opportunity in Washington, D.C. This position is a maternity leave coverage assignment supporting students in a 5th and 6th grade inclusion math classroom. Grade Levels: 5th & 6th Grade
Classroom Setting: Inclusion Math
Responsibilities
Provide specialized math instruction to students in an inclusion classroom.
Deliver 1:1 targeted math intervention using a pull-in instructional model within the general education setting.
Collaborate with general education teachers to support student learning and academic success.
Implement accommodations and modifications outlined in students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
Participate in team meetings and communicate effectively with school staff and families as needed.
Qualifications
Valid Special Education teaching license/certification in Washington, D.C., or eligibility for licensure.
Experience teaching upper elementary or middle school students preferred.
Strong knowledge of math intervention strategies and inclusive instructional practices.
Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills. Bachelors Degree or higher in special education OR special needs

Compensation for this position ranges from $24.82 to $47.82. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
