Job Description
Step into a meaningful opportunity supporting K-12 students as a Behavior Specialist this upcoming school year! This full-time, onsite role spans from August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027, offering 35 hours per week of hands-on involvement in an engaging, supportive educational environment. Work side-by-side with students, staff, and administrators while shaping evidence-based practices in autism support programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Train incoming staff in general instructional strategies for students with Autism
- Provide ongoing guidance to all staff on individual student behavior plans
- Offer refresher trainings to returning team members on updated procedures
- Help students establish verbal repertoires (VRs) through direct interaction
- Model best practices in classrooms and conduct in-vivo coaching sessions
- Lead training sessions with building staff to review IEPs, BIPs, and documentation
- Act as a knowledgeable resource during the start-of-year and across critical periods
- Collaborate with consultants to align practices with the district’s tiered implementation strategies
- Support the transfer and implementation of skills to various autism support classrooms
- Monitor fidelity and effectiveness of evidence-based interventions, providing corrective feedback
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid Pennsylvania certification in Special Education or a related discipline
- Strong foundation in evidence-based ASD instructional practices
- Prior experience in autism support and special education (K-12)
- Familiarity with urban school environments and district dynamics
- Ability to obtain required Pennsylvania clearances prior to start date
- Comfortable working onsite between 7:15 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. without accommodations
- Reliable transportation
