Position summary The Analyst - Financial Analytics & AI Intelligence supports the financial, operational, and strategic initiatives of Reed Smith Legal Solutions. Reporting to the Manager - Financial Operations & Analytics, this entry-level role assists with financial reporting, operational analytics, AI market intelligence, and strategic research supporting the Reed Smith AI Lab. This position is designed for recent graduates and early-career professionals seeking to build expertise in financial analytics, business operations, legal technology, and artificial intelligence. Working alongside senior team members, the Analyst will contribute to financial reporting, AI technology evaluations, market research, and strategic initiatives while developing a strong foundation for future growth. This role provides a development path toward Senior Analyst, Manager, Financial Operations & Analytics, AI Strategy, and other business and technology leadership opportunities within Reed Smith Legal Solutions. Job duties and responsibilities Financial Analytics Prepare recurring financial reports, dashboards, and KPI tracking. Collect, organize, validate, and analyze financial and operational data. Support budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, and pricing initiatives. Identify trends and prepare insights for leadership. Business Operations Support billing, collections, procurement, and operational reporting. Document operational processes and standard operating procedures. Prepare executive presentations and business review materials. AI Market Intelligence Research emerging AI technologies, legal technology vendors, and enterprise software. Monitor AI industry trends, funding activity, acquisitions, and product releases. Maintain an internal AI market intelligence repository for the Reed Smith AI Lab. Prepare executive summaries, vendor comparisons, and technology evaluations. Assist with testing and evaluating new AI tools and platforms. Strategic Projects Support proof-of-concept initiatives and cross-functional projects. Assist with client demonstrations and leadership presentations. Participate in operational improvement and business transformation initiatives. Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to automate reporting and operational processes. Maintain documentation and knowledge repositories. Job duties and responsibilities included are not exhaustive and may be supplemented asnecessary. Internship, co-op, or academic project experience in analytics, finance, consulting, AI, or technology preferred. Experience: 0-2 years of professional experience. Experience in legal or professional services is a plus but not required. Skills: Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. Exposure to Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, or similar analytics tools preferred. Interest in AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Harvey, Claude, or similar technologies. Ability to learn quickly and collaborate in a fast-paced environment. Additional information Supervisory responsibilities: None Equipment used: Personal computer and other office equipment such as telephone, calculator, copier, scanner, etc. Essential job functions Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform tasks requiring prolonged and/or extensive computer use. Ability to use computers, telecommunications, and digital collaboration tools to perform core job responsibilities. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to maintain attention to detail while analyzing complex information, managing multiple priorities, and applying sound judgment to decisions. Ability to access, use, and safeguard confidential and sensitive information while performing job responsibilities in work environments that support confidentiality, privacy, and information security requirements. Ability to work extended hours as required to meet project, client, or business needs. Working conditions You will be required to work in the office a minimum of 4 days per week. Occasionally called upon to work hours in excess of your normal daily schedule. The details of your weekly schedule will be discussed further with your direct supervisor. Pay ranges This is a non-exempt position. The hourly wage range for this role is $30.00 to $33.65, with an estimated annual compensation range of $62,400 to $70,000, based on a 40-hour workweek. This represents the presently anticipated pay range for this position. Actual pay may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location and experience.
