Location: Rockford, IL (Headquarters Based)

Position Overview

\n

Join a team that installs, commissions, repairs, and optimizes some of the most advanced CNC machine tools in the world. This position is ideal for experienced CNC Field Service Technicians, Machine Tool Builders, CNC Service Technicians, CNC Maintenance Technicians, and Machine Tool Service Technicians who enjoy solving complex technical challenges while supporting customers across the United States and internationally.

This position includes up to 85% domestic and international travel. When you're not traveling, you'll work from our Rockford, Illinois headquarters supporting machine builds, rebuilds, troubleshooting, and technical projects—keeping you connected to the engineering and manufacturing teams rather than waiting between service calls.

\n

You'll support industry-leading CNC machine tools used in aerospace, defense, transportation, energy, and advanced manufacturing, working on some of the largest and most sophisticated manufacturing systems in the world.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

• Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair advanced CNC machine tools and manufacturing equipment
\n • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, servo, and motion control systems
\n • Read and interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings, hydraulic diagrams, and technical documentation
\n • Perform machine leveling, alignment, geometry verification, calibration, and compensation
\n • Troubleshoot spindle assemblies, gearboxes, axis drive systems, automatic tool changers, and automation components
\n • Configure and troubleshoot 5-axis CNC machine functions, including Traori applications
\n • Perform machine commissioning, customer acceptance testing, and equipment validation
\n • Deliver customer training on machine operation, maintenance, and best practices
\n • Document service activities and prepare detailed technical reports
\n • Train and mentor junior technicians
\n • Support machine service, rebuilds, troubleshooting, and technical projects at the Rockford headquarters when not traveling
\n • Travel domestically and internationally to support customer installations and service calls

\n

Qualifications

\n

• Minimum of 4 years of CNC machine tool service, maintenance, installation, or field service experience
\n • Strong troubleshooting skills involving electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
\n • Experience with CNC controls, servo systems, motion control, and precision machine alignment
\n • Ability to read electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and fluid system diagrams
\n • Experience using precision measurement equipment and diagnostic tools
\n • Strong communication and customer service skills
\n • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
\n • Willingness to travel up to 85%, including international assignments
\n • Ability to work flexible schedules based on customer and project needs

Preferred Experience

\n

• FANUC, Siemens, or Heidenhain CNC controls
\n • Machine commissioning and installation
\n • Machine geometry corrections and laser calibration
\n • OEM machine tool experience
\n • Aerospace, defense, heavy manufacturing, or industrial automation environments

Compensation & Benefits

\n

• Pay: $24.00–$43.00 per hour, based on experience
\n • Competitive daily travel per diem while on assignment
