This contract opportunity near Pacifica, CA, allows you to provide specialized physical education services to students with disabilities, designing and implementing individualized programs that foster physical growth, confidence, and inclusion. You'll play an instrumental part as you partner with families, educators, and support staff to help each student reach their fullest potential, both physically and academically.

Qualifications:

  • Current California teaching credential with Adaptive Physical Education authorization, or proof of eligibility
  • Demonstrated experience working with students with special needs (preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Strong capacity for teamwork and collaborative problem-solving

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and identify students’ physical abilities and needs, developing tailored APE lesson plans
  • Deliver adaptive physical education programs in both group and individual settings, incorporating evidence-based practices
  • Monitor student progress, adjusting instruction as needed to promote motor skills, participation, and positive attitudes toward physical activity
  • Liaise consistently with general education teachers, special education staff, and related service providers to integrate APE into each student’s educational plan
  • Communicate regularly with families, providing resources and strategies for continued development at home
  • Uphold compliance with state and federal regulations regarding physical education for students with disabilities
