Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current ASHA certification
  • Valid Alabama Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (ABSESPA) licensure
  • Professional Educator Certification (Alabama)
  • Any additional licensure or credentials required for SLPA roles in Alabama
  • Completion of state-mandated fingerprinting/background checks
  • Previous experience in a school-based SLPA position is highly valued
  • Strong communication skills, adaptability, and a student-centered mindset

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver speech and language services under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Support the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Track student progress, documenting and reporting data accurately
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and other school staff to promote student success
  • Adjust strategies to meet the unique needs of each student on your caseload
  • Maintain compliance with school and state policies regarding speech-language services
