Position Overview and Qualifications

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), you will be essential in delivering attentive, high-quality care to patients transitioning from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Your role will involve helping patients regain strength, prevent complications, and progress toward recovery. Collaborating with a dedicated critical care team, you will contribute to improving lives daily.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering direct care to patients with complex needs, including administering medications, assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), managing tubes and drains, and supporting advanced monitoring.
  • Closely observing changes in heart rate, oxygen saturation, or neurological status, and promptly notifying the team to facilitate early intervention.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation to enhance team collaboration and ensure patient safety.
  • Guiding patients and their families in understanding their conditions and providing support as they navigate serious health challenges and recovery processes.
  • Collaborating with registered nurses, physicians, and specialists to assist patients in stabilizing and progressing from intensive care.
Qualifications Required:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN).
  • Graduation from a vocational school.
