Senior Estimator - Plumbing Projects
Long Island, NY (On-Site)

We're working with a well-established contractor in the Long Island market that's looking to bring on a Senior Estimator to support large-scale plumbing and mechanical projects. This person will take ownership of the full estimating process - from early budgeting through final project buyout - and play a key role in driving consistency and accuracy across the function.

What you'll be doing:
  • Lead the preparation of budgets, bids, and cost estimates for large-scale plumbing projects
  • Review drawings and project documents to define accurate scopes of work
  • Identify risk factors and evaluate potential cost impacts early in the process
  • Build detailed estimates based on conceptual and design-stage information
  • Work closely with clients, vendors, and internal teams to clarify scope, pricing, and assumptions
  • Support project teams during job execution, including meetings, change orders, and project closeout
  • Evaluate design options and recommend cost-effective solutions
  • Occasionally visit job sites to support estimates and project understanding
What they're looking for:
  • 10+ years of estimating experience within construction (plumbing/mechanical strongly preferred)
  • Strong understanding of materials, labor, and overall construction costs
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs
  • Experience with estimating software and strong Excel skills
  • Solid analytical mindset with attention to detail
  • Field experience is a plus
  • Plumbing license is a plus but not required
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage deadlines
Pay Details: $150,000.00 to $185,000.00 per year
